Based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Starlight Home Care respite homes are ideal for those wanting to have some independence, learn new skills, socialize and make friends whilst in a ‘home away from home’ environment. Our respite homes are located in:
- Craigieburn
- Kalkallo
Each respite home is purpose-built with all the essential areas that a regular home has. This includes living, dining, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry and backyard area. Select respite homes include a sensory room, nearby parks and easy access to community-based services. Some of our respite homes also include a range of books, toys and entertainment for all ages.
Activities and supports are designed to help improve self-confidence, emotional resilience and broaden individual life skills. We assist people to develop specific skills to improve daily living and help develop strategies to maintain these skills.
What’s included?
The following expenses are covered by your NDIS funds:
- Accommodation with your own private room
- Support at 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 or 1:4 ratio depending on your needs
- Personal care
- Household chores
- Laundry
- Medical management
- Food consumed within the home
- Activities carried out in the home
What’s not included?
The following expenses are not covered by your NDIS funds:
- Transport to and from the respite home
- Food consumed outside the home
- Community activities
